Default 4 universal GW problems and 4 intelligent solutions

GW PROBLEM 1
Ever played a monk or an Ele, where the warriors are forever charging off because THEY have enough energy? Then they die and complain about lack of support. Also it would be super-helpful to knowe your teams energy levels.

INTELLLGENT SOLUTION 1
Show each team members blue energy bar just under their health. It will have to be thin to fit, but thats ok.

GW PROBLEM 2
Difficult to find good players for a team or mission. You just don't know what you are getting. And asking them about their experience or fame can be answered as they want...

INTELLLGENT SOLUTION 2
When you click on a persons name, it shows not only level but their experience point and fame levels. Of course, this is not an absolutely reliable measure but it is better than current measure i.e. none.

__________________________________________________ __

GW PROBLEM 3
Lots of people learn the layout of monster postions through over-play.
Is this a measure of skill? No. Does this reduce the challenge? Of course

INTELLLGENT SOLUTION 3
Randomise some monster placements. This also makes it more interesting for repeat players.

__________________________________________________ __

GW PROBLEM 4
Chat channels swamped with people selling items and not using correct channels. This is a huge hinderance to new players who cannot even talk on Local channel because of people trying to sell gold dye(yawn), etc.

INTELLLGENT SOLUTION 4
Remove the trade channel enirely (yes the trade channel).
Any sentence submitted to local Chat channel that contains 'wts' or 'selling' or possibly even numerical characters is re-routed to nowhere, and player receives a message "to sell use trade house"
If players really need to use numerics in local chat( can't see why...) they can type ' three', 'six' or whatever.Of course, no such restrictions need exist on whisper channels.

Players can put up to x number of items in a For Sale Box, much like storage, along with an asking price. There is no fuss, no haggling, no scamming(emphasis on this) .

Buyers can search by simple item type, price range.Thats it.

nice one Ether
but seriously:
you bring some stuff up that is all debated to death before. they are indeed issues, and making a new thread makes me wonder if this would add much to the discussion other then causing a repeat of arguments.

very intelligent one, than people start using different shortcuts, ie: "S: gold dye"...

A ctrl+click on your energy bar would be enough. But the problem isn't that people don't _know_ you are low on energy, the problem is: they don't _care_.

allthough I would like to see the energy of my mates

Better to have no measure than to have false measure. Most morons play alot and many good players don't play much. For example if you want to PvE you want someone that listens - expierence doesn't really matter, he just need to listen and stay with the team. Of course he should have some clue, but average skill is sufficient.

And what is best solution to deal with e-mail spam? There is no best solution, but most effective is to ignore them and get used to them. After a while after you practice that, it will be not a problem anymore.

Personally, I think it's good to see a thread that's not just moaning about the state of the game (cost of this, amount of favour for that, whinge about the other) but also proposes some solutions to these problems.

Even though I would disagree on one or two of them (people can just type in the words instead of numbers for prices, and meeting up with friends in a specific district or requesting a certain amount of players for your PUG may throw your "Number Filtering" suggestion out of the window), I like some of the ideas, and don't think that your post deserves any sort of flaming or derogotary remarks that seems to be becoming the norm around here.....

1- agreed

2- newbies won't get PuGs if you do that, if you want a good group just get guildies

3- alright... but i prefer to know where things are

4- you were on a roll there, but you ruined your entire post with this suggestion

I actually agree with this one simply because most of the people who are looking for or spamming their high XP and fame are going to be poor leaders and poor players so the better players can know to avoid them. It's easy to get a good group together the only problem is most people are too lazy and want a shortcut. Take your time interview each member, ask whats on their skill bar etc. and you should be able to work out who's a good player and who isn't or failing that you could just take the henchies they're always good .

Well thanks to those of you that saw my post as was intended and took the time to read it; it just a bunch of suggestions to problems that I hope one day Arena clear up.

It was my first post, and sadly it will be my last as its clear to me that many posters here are just argumentative and have no desire or capacity for discussion.

I will end with one observation:

I am amazed and re-amazed at just how many unpleasant people play GW.
Any pyscho-analysts want to hazard a guess as to why that might be?

That's because you posted your thread in the wrong forum on top of the omission of your fifth problem/solution.

Personally, I would cut him some slack. He stated it was his first post. May not be familair with search function, may have picked what he felt was the correct forum. In either case, I felt that his listings were well thought out as well as possible solutions. Not saying I agree with all of them, but at least it showed the OP was both posting what he saw as an issue with solutions which is more than I can say for many post on here. So what do we do.............can't say we gave him much of a warm welcome..........but thats just my 2 cents.
